Terms of Service
The agreement between you and us when you use this site or buy our journals.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of thesteadingcodex.com and any purchase you make from us. The site and store are operated by Web Production Labs LLC, trading as The Steading Codex ("we", "us"). By using the site or buying from us, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1 · Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to purchase. By buying, you confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you may enter this agreement.
2 · Our content & intellectual property
The journals, books, designs, text, images, and all other material on the site are owned by Web Production Labs LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. "The Steading Codex" and "Hadley Wren" (a disclosed pen name) are our marks. You may not copy, reproduce, or reuse site content except as expressly allowed here.
3 · License to what you buy
When you purchase a digital product (e.g. a PDF), we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to download and use it for your own personal use, including printing copies for yourself. You may not resell, redistribute, share, sublicense, upload, or publicly post the files, in whole or in part. Printed editions you buy are yours as physical goods, but the underlying content remains licensed, not sold.
4 · Orders, pricing & payment
Prices are shown on the site and may change at any time before purchase. We may correct errors, refuse, or cancel an order (including for suspected fraud or pricing mistakes). You are responsible for any taxes that apply. Our store runs on Shopify; payments are handled by Shopify Payments (and Shop Pay), and by paying you agree to its terms.
5 · Digital delivery
Digital products are delivered electronically (download link or email) after payment. It's your responsibility to provide a valid email and to download within any stated period.
6 · Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
7 · Printed editions via Amazon
Some printed editions are sold and fulfilled through Amazon. Those purchases are subject to Amazon's own terms, pricing, and return policy, not ours.
8 · Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site: no attempting to break security, scrape at scale, disrupt service, infringe our or others' rights, or use the site unlawfully.
9 · Affiliate program
If you join our affiliate program, additional terms apply as described on the affiliate page and in any program agreement.
10 · Disclaimers
Our content is educational and provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Please read our Disclaimer, which is incorporated into these Terms. We don't warrant the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
11 · Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Web Production Labs LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of the site or products. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the product at issue. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
12 · Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Web Production Labs LLC from claims arising out of your misuse of the site or breach of these Terms.
13 · Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Web Production Labs LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence still apply.
14 · Changes
We may update these Terms; the "last updated" date will change and continued use means you accept the revised Terms.
